September 1, 2006, Newsletter Issue #30: Reasons to start a personal blog

Tip of the Week

People start personal blogs for all sorts of reason. Some do it to keep far-flung family members updated on what's going on in their own neck of the woods. Some do it to share information on their progress with a particular medical struggle. Some people have personal blogs simply as a means of chronicling their daily life and have no intention of really sharing it with anyone. There was even a homeless college student in New York, who was sleeping in the school's library and bathing in its bathrooms who kept a blog of his daily experiences. Personal blogs are the essence of the blog movement. It is all about personal expression. If you are motivated to start a blog, you can learn more about it at Blogger.com, TypePad.com or any of the other blog hosting services popular today.
